Who are you??? She says, “My name is ARTI, designed for helping people”. Yes, that is her introduction. With Raspberry Pi 3 as the brain and Arduino Uno as the brawn, this digital home assistant can chat with you, learn from you, provide live surveillance, remind you of events, maintain your To-do list, send mail, click pictures and many more. Apart from this, your home assistant can also locomote from one place to another. 

Raspberry Pi 3: This is the heart the project. Voice commands will be sent from mobile browser to the server running in Pi which will process the commands and respond accordingly. 

Arduino Uno and Motor Controller: Pi and Uno performs the commands in master-slave relationship. Pi sends commands to Uno which in turn forwards the commands to the motor controllers which regulate the speed of the motors. This is done to dissipate the load exerted on Pi in order to avoid single point of failure. Also, Arduino acts as an interface in converting the digital output signals of Pi  to analog input signals of motor controllers. Motor controllers are independently supplied with power to exempt load from Pi and Uno.

Some of the mentionable features of ARTI are as follows:

• Chatbot: Feeling lonely, need some one to talk, crack jokes? ARTI is here at your service to provide you mental comfort in the most humanly manner possible.
• Man behind the lens: Who does not love a great picture? But often someone is left behind the lens to capture the perfect photograph. ARTI solves this problem by playing that patient cameraman’s role, so that everyone can share one happy frame. All you need to do is smile wide when she asks “Say CHEEEESSSSEEEE”.
• Music Player: Like all, ARTI too loves music. You can ask ARTI to play any song that is already stored in her memory, or plug in a USB drive with your custom playlist. ARTI can easily change, play, pause or shuffle music based on your reqirement. You can even add music from USB to her playlist. ARTI keeps track of the songs by categorizing them based on your mood. “ARTI, play some dance beats”… just ask and she will.
• Live Surveillance: Keep a constant eye on your house while at work, ARTI to rescue. Drive her to the room to check if someone intruded
• Send Mail: Just ask ARTI to send an email to anyone from your contact and she will. Of course, do not forget to mention the content of the mail.
• Google Search and Weather Reports: Net surfing is no longer at your finger tip. It is now  on the tip of your tongue.
• Calculator: Days of solving long mathematical calculations are long gone, make ARTI do the task for you.
• Event Reminder and To-do List: ARTI can save you from your wife by reminding you of your marriage anniversary and to-do list for the day.
• Nickname: Last but not the least. Everyone wants to be treated like a boss, right? ARTI  can make you feel one if you ask her to address you with a nickname. In my case i asked her to call me BOSS.

ARTI is capable of learning from you. She is like a baby who needs to be taught about the rules of the world. The more you interact, the more she will become smarter to serve you.
